It’s a beeeeeyoooootiful day out today, so Al and I decided to take our soil samples for our Sustainable Landscaping class homework. A simple experiment involving a measure of garden soil, water and a little soap put in a jar and shook for 10 minutes, we’ll look later to see what kind of soil we have.
Anyhoo, we were outside shaking our jars, listening to the birds sing. I kept hearing a bird and looking for it until I finally spotted it near enough to view. Bluebirds!!! We have bluebirds! So cool.
Also in the area, we have spotted Sand-hill Cranes flying by. This morning we saw a pair of them land in the field behind our place, so we were pretty excited about that too.
A quick peek at the landscape out front revealed some of the spring bulbs I planted last fall just emerging from the mulch.
Spring is coming!
